Foxfire FAQs
Foxfire Product Line
What makes FOXFIRE sealers different from the ones at the hardware store?
FOXFIRE sealers address the root of the problem from an entirely different approach instead of trying to cover it up.
Topical sealers (or surface sealers) just protect the surface of concrete allowing water to seep in underneath the surface, compromising the integrity of the concrete from within. This allows weakening to re-occur due to ultra violet sun rays (UV) or heavy wear and tear.
FOXFIRE sealers penetrate into the concrete surface and form dense hydrophobic compounds within the pore structure to achieve a stable internal concrete or masonry mass. This actually makes the concrete or masonry much stronger by densifying the structure.
The concrete is now sealed permanently from the inside, not just temporarily on the surface. This process protects your hard surface by repelling water, acids, salts, chlorides, oil, and a variety of organic stains resulting in an easier to maintain surface.
What do you mean by “densify?”
FOXFIRE sealer’s unique formula penetrates deep into the substrate and chemically reacts with the alkaline materials in the concrete and masonry. It forms dense hydrophobic compounds within the pore structure that fill the capillary pores, hairline cracks, and voids.
This slows down and prevents water and air migration through the concrete or masonry. It then becomes and integral part of the concrete when it hardens causing the concrete or masonry to densify and thereby decreasing the moisture permeability and porosity. By this fusion, the substrate actually becomes better concrete. It can also be used as a cure-and-seal for newly poured concrete.
We have our own cleaners, how are yours different?
FOXFIRE’s line of sealers will remove stains such as red clay, dirt, rust, oil, and grease while also removing mold and mildew. Used in combination, our cleaners and sealers offer astounding results in both new construction and existing structures.
Couldn’t I just pressure wash my hard surfaces?
High pressure cleaning tends to damage surfaces which can be avoided. Our cleaning solutions allow the use of reduced pressures thereby avoiding unnecessary damage to your surface.
